Botanical Name: Castanea sativa
Description: Chestnut comes from many places of Europe (both the Balkans and places of Western Europe) and it is kiln dried (KD). It is available unedged. Its color is yellow-brown and is sometimes provided in slightly darker shades (depending on the region of origin). It is flat grain, relatively hard and durable, while it is not easily attacked by fungi and insects. It is used for the construction of furniture, frames, carvers, veneers, beams, piles and other wooden constructions.
